Ok so it’s been a while but we had a lot of shit to take care of: mixing records, stackin cash, and moving to another country. But we feel pretty settled after two days/nights, and are ready to resume hitting you with Yes this and No that and even more episodes of Chopped and Screwed! Yusssssss. Killa back at it with another “single” off of his upcoming album “Crime Pays.” While “I hate my Job” reminds you why you’ll always have a soft spot in your heart for Cam, “I used to Get it in Ohio” actually hypes you on the dude and reminds you why there is no soft spot in his heart: THE DOPE GAME. Also Cam’ron just rules: “Pull out the rat-tat-tat/ duck, duck, say goose/ beige coupe, suede boots/ send’em up to Hey-sus” YUSSSSSS. This video seems, like “Job” to be a tad low-budget which is cool and in keeping with the-world’s-against-me-Cam we know today, and did you see that seven minute “intro” vid? Pretty hilarious. ALSO awesome is that in light of having lost all his old friends, he’s gotta make some new chums, and he’s off to a good start being featured on OJ da Juiceman and Gucci Mane’s “Make the trap Aye” remix. So check all that out. And watch this interview with XXL, ummmm did I really hear him say “also we got the sitcom comin out”?????? Just get really high and watch as many things Cam’ron as possible, soon it will be 4am and you will have pissed off half your friends. But you will luh it.

So here come’s the new Baja Fresh of burgerdom, Elevation Burger. Straight up this food is worse than what you would get on the fuckin Amtrak. The burger looked like it was cut out of a slab with a cookie cutter and then poached in pee. It tasted like newspaper. Shoestring fries deepdizzled in olive oil? Blech. My malt was aight but there’s just no way I would ever go back (except a malatov cocktail throught the window) and no reason why anyone should go here when there’s Five Guys. The whole place stunk like a fucking hospital cafeteria and no awesome music with which to serenade your burger. Just the lifeless zombies behind the counter and the nerdherd eating their shit that makes them feel good becuase it’s a “not-as-bad-for-you burger.” Look man, its a CHEESEBURGER, its not going to be healthy, and if you are gonna use good ingredients, cook that shit right with all the organic fat at your disposal, otherwise you are just half-steppin. YES: TITS VS. TEATS*

The other night for no apparent reason It somehow came into my head that Titanic had beaten Babe out for the Academy Award for best picture in whatever year that would have happened. This kind of irked me and when I brought it up with some people most of them seemed to think Titanic was the better film. I think babe should have won (Celine Dion vs three cute-ass mice? COME ON!) As my ire rose I decided to send a mass-text-poll and see what a few people had to say. Overall the polls showed 11-6 in Babe’s favor, here are some favorite text-responses:

The only local DC area music that I have ever really loved happens to come mostly from a legendary figure (at least in my own mind) named Matthew Teardrop. He’s the man behind School and currently Manhattan Murder Mystery. He’s got the “post punk guitar pop” song down like few I have heard. Once I asked him for a CD and recieved a handwritten letter and a “Greatest Hits” CD-R. It’s dope, you should try to get one yourself. I couldn’t pick a favorite so here’s a newer one by MMM called “I Am Tired Of Being A Man”. Truth!

Anyway after a thorough browsing of these I’m comin away with a couple things. One is that Calvin Klein needs to be steppin up their game a lil, becuase while they are keeping it real with that “austere minimalism” we all (or at least I) love, it looks like they are two steps away from rollin out the costumes from THX 1138, like embracing the 21st century dystopia tip but from the twighlight zone (although uniforms might make me a lot less angry when I walk down the street). Also those winter coats look like that Marty Mcfly shit from 2015. However that stuff is way preferable to the Marc by Marc Jacobs line which seemingy doesn’t get that this resurgence in flannel popularity is totally bunk and that I’m punching the first dude I see wearing one of those tophats! This clothing is encouraging all the wrong kind of swagger, straight out the 20th century thrift-store. Definitely tight (at least above the waist) was Tim Hamilton’s stuff for keeping it REALLY real mit schwarz und weiss, and shout out to Patrick Ervell for a touch of class with the 21st century erudite look.

Marco Pierre White, who took the reins of the UK’s Hell’s Kitchen (formerly hosted by Gordon Ramsay) is now getting his own show in The Colonies, “The Chopping Block.” The title is adequately severe without being as in-your-face mass appeal as “Hell’s Kitchen,” much like White as opposed to Ramsay. While MPW is definitely insane, he does seem to be a little less egotistical than Ramsay - I mean he looks like shit, but didn’t always. The fact that MPW looks 20 years beyond his real age while Ramsay was recently voted Britain’s Sexiest Chef illustrates the difference between the two and the purpose of each’s dedication. As for this show, NBC will assuredly edit it such that White looks like a hard-ass psycho but it’ll be interesting to look at the business of opening restaurants as a whole as opposed to just cooking in the kitchen.

YUSSSS. Cam’ron is back on the scene, seemingly channeling his beef woes through Tyrone and Tia Everyman’s economic nightmares. We can also be thankful he isn’t switching it up at all really: A nice ditty-bop beat with dat grand piano singin’ my heart out feel with the Apollo theater back up vocalist sample is classic Harlem Cam, and really I don’t think he’s capable of altering that four-bar flow, but the swag is there and you can kinna feel his pain in like a beat up dog way: “he ain’t diggin me/politely he was dissin me/no we’re not hirin/thanks for the visit, please.” He may actually just be poor, however - the video is lookin a tad frugal. Sepia tones and who knows where it was filmed seeing as Cam’ron probably can’t show his face in like 46 states. But either way we missed you Cam, and Y/N is lookin forward to dat album suppozably droppin in April 2k9.
